Compiler error: Cannot open include file: 'dependencies/includes/dxtex.h': No such file or directory

Sep 24, 2012 at 10:26 PM

I tried to compile the solution, but got a compiler error related to "dxtex.h": how can I fix the problem? (e.g. installing DirectX SDK? Windows SDK?)

BTW, I am running VS2012 on Windows 8.

Thanks!

Hi Yuanming,

To fix this error, you need to do the following:

Install the Project Code Name Austin Libraries. The Project Code Name Austin Libraries are a set of dlls and libraries necessary for the application to run. To obtain the libraries:

  1. Review the license terms for the Project Code Name Austin Libraries located in license.rtf.
  2. Download austin_libraries_neutral.zip.
  3. Download austin_libraries_x64.zip.
  4. Download austin_libraries_x86.zip.
  5. Unzip all three files to '<project root>\dependencies'.

Please, let us know if you're still seeing a problem.

thanks,

George Mileka

Hi cosmin,

Looks like the links I posted previously moved. The best way to get updated links is to go to http://austin.codeplex.com, and click 'Build Instructions' at the end of the page. On the page, you'll find the update links to the libraries. I've just verified they still work. Please, let me know if they don't.

thanks,
